Kirkstone House School was established in January 1964 by our Principal, Mrs B K Wyman as a Nursery School with just four pupils. It has over the years gradually expanded to become what it is today, a thriving school of 250 pupils aged 4 to 16. With approximately fifteen to a class, Kirkstone provides the ideal opportunity for its pupils to take advantage of the broad range of subjects, committed and experienced teachers and delightful rural setting.
Early Years, Junior and Senior departments all occupy their individual areas on the spacious campus, within close proximity of each other, this allows easy access to shared facilities like our extensive sports fields, sports hall and fully equipped ICT suite. Kirkstone’s unique 60 acre site of woodlands and lakes has specific scientific interest where pupils are able to enjoy ‘hands on’ environmental study.
